Hachnassas Sefer Torah!

Picture
Mazal Tov!! Welcoming a new Sefer Torah join your shul is truly a unique, unparalleled joyous event. A Hachnassas Sefer Torah generally involves three parts:
1) Inscription of the last words: This generally occurs in a house a few blocks away from the shul. During this time, the last words of the brand-new Torah are written and guests arrive for the celebration.
2) Procession: the new Torah is escorted under a chuppa to the shul amid fervent singing and dancing
3) In-shul dancing: Once the Torah is accompanied into the shul, dancing commences inside the shul, along with special prayers that might be said.

If your shul has the budget, then I strongly encourage that you book the Zemer Orchestra for your HST. For a very reasonable rate, your Torah celebration will have a true "marching band" - consisting of me on accordion, plus a saxophone player and drummer, plus the option of adding additional horn players. Once inside the shul, the band will continue playing with the same instrumental structure as any indoors event.
If your shul budget cannot accommodate a full band, I am available to play accordion for the procession, switching to keyboard with vocals for in-shul dancing. Alternatively, I can play keyboard on top of a moving flat-bed truck for the procession instead of playing the accordion.
